Jang Ja Yeon, who was currently playiing Sunny in the hit drama “Boys Before Flowers”, committed suicide today. She was found dead in her apartment in Bundang. Police said she was found hung in her living room. Police think that this death was arond 4:30 PM and found her three hours later.

All the cast of “Boys Before Flowers” were in shock after this news was released. They also think that the schedule would have to be rotated around because of this loss.

Jang was just 27 years old and “Boys Before Flowers” was just her second project.

Some people think the cause of her death was her current agency and lack of time on “Boys Before Flowers”. It left her depressed and caused her to hang heself. She was also going to debut in two big screen movies, but I guess it’s too late.

Seoul – An actress in the popular Korean drama, Boys Over Flowers, was found dead last Saturday in an apparent suicide, fuelling talk that the serial is jinxed. Jang Ja Yeon, 26, played Sunny, one of a trio of mean girls who harass heroine Geum Jan Di (played by Gu Hye Seon) in the Korean version of the hit Taiwanese idol drama, Meteor Garden.

The show is currently screening in Singapore over KBS World on StarHub CableTV.

Police said Jang’s older sister found her hanging on the banister of a staircase in their house in South Korea’s Gyeonggi province. She reportedly told police that Jang suffered from depression. Police said there were no signs of foul play and were expected to rule her death as a suicide, the Korea Herald reported.

A friend told reporters that Jang left a six-page note detailing her contract problems with her management company. Her death has intensified talk on the Internet that Boys Over Flowers is cursed.

Since January, the serial’s four male lead actors Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Joon and Kim Bum as well as lead actress Gu have been hit by a series of road accidents. Kim Hyun Joong escaped injury on Jan 21 when a car he was in was badly smashed after a road collision. The next day, Kim Joon was behind the wheel when he crashed into another car but he continued on his way to the film set. On Jan 27, Lee Min Ho had just alighted from a car driven by his manager when it collided with another vehicle. Kim Bum was still being treated for a Feb 1 fender bender when the vehicle he was in crashed into a road railing on Feb 9 and he had to have his toe stitched. Gu was hurt in a diving scene in January and then injured her lips in a traffic accident on Feb 27. KBS had to cancel airing an episode on March 2 as filming was hampered.

Fans on the Internet said the actors had not been getting enough sleep because of the hectic filming schedule.

Actress, Woo Seung-yeon, 25, was found dead in her home in Seoul in what appears to be a suicide, police said Monday.

Woo apparently hanged herself in her room and was found dead by her roommate who notified police, according to the Seoul Songpa Police Station.

She left a note stating she loved her family and she was sorry to leave them. She also sent a text message stating "I'm sorry" to her sister, who tried to reach her by phone, a police officer said.

Woo debuted as a model for fashion magazines and appeared in minor roles in the movies "Herb" (2007) and "Private Eye" (2009). She was taking leave from the Department of French Language and Literature at Chung-Ang University.

She was signed by the Oracle Entertainment agency two months ago and expected to broaden her acting career.
